Cape Sounion Private Tour

Driving through central Athenian Avenues you will be directed to the south edge of the Attica peninsula to the Cape Sounion and the Temple of the Poseidon. This location is highly recommended to be visited in the sunset, so it’s best for this to be an afternoon romantic tour. The route of this 1 ½ hours trip is one of the most interesting and beautiful you could choose.

Leaving the city center and passing through the elegant suburbs of Faliron, and Glyfada and further away towards the suburbs of Kavouri, Voula and Vouliagmeni -and many other picturesque villages on the way- we drive right next to the sea, and have the chance to admire the scenic Athenian and Attica Riviera, with the Saronic Gulf on our right.

Reaching our destination, Cape Sounion, we find the famous 5th-Century BC Temple of Poseidon, standing on a breathtaking cliff top, overlooking throughout the Saronic Gulf and Aegean Sea. You will have the chance to walk in the archeological site and feel the pulse of Ancient Greece, visualize God Poseidon worship ceremonies, King Aegeas jumping to the sea, or Lord Byron get inspired for his poems.

Sunset panoramic views are beyond imagination. Spectacular open horizons, deep blue crystal waters and on a clear day, you can see more than 5 Greek islands, with the adjacent island of Aegina with its relevant Temple of Afea the most important one.

When your visit ends and on your way back, you can close it by dinning next to the sea, either in an elegant hotel restaurant or in a traditional Greek tavern.
